Hospice Care

Mt. Hood Hospice provides the highest quality care to families coping with life-limiting illness, emphasizing comfort, dignity and choice.

Why Choose Mt. Hood Hospice?

We are one of the oldest established hospice agencies in Oregon. Our referrals come from word of mouth because of the excellent care we provide to our patients and families. We value our role in the communities we serve. Mt. Hood Hospice started in 1980 as a small group of volunteers offering compassionate care for people with terminal illnesses. In 1983, Mt. Hood Hospice became the first hospice to be accredited by the Oregon Hospice Association and, in 1987, the first community based hospice to be Medicare-certified. Since that time MHH has stayed current in compliance with changing CMS regulations while remaining true to our original ideal: to provide the highest quality care to families coping with life-limiting illness, and emphasizing comfort, dignity and choice.

Not-for-profit

The years since 1987 have seen enormous growth in the number Medicare-certified hospices across the nation. While we all operate under the same set of regulations, the scope and quality of services provided by each agency can differ widely. We at Mt. Hood Hospice are motivated by one thing: the desire to provide quality, compassionate care to people with terminal illnesses and their families. At Mt. Hood Hospice, our bottom line is you.

Free-Standing, Community based

Because Mt. Hood Hospice is a freestanding, community-based hospice, we are not under the umbrella of any hospital or other corporate organization. We are able to respond with speed and efficiency.

Dedicated On-call Staff

Our staff includes dedicated on-call nurses and on-call backup nurses. If you are considering another hospice, this is a good question to ask.

Fast Response Time

Our goal is to be able to get to you as quickly as possible. If you call after hours, our answering service immediately calls our on-call nurse and the on-call nurse calls you.
